Cath Lab Advances

New Angiojet System

The heart and vascular program at Northridge Hospital Medical Center's state-of-the art cath lab performs a number of advanced procedures to treat coronary artery disease, peripheral artery disease and arrhythmias. A new advanced technique, called the Angiojet System, is now available in addition to the traditional balloon angioplasty and stent placement, including the use of drug-eluting stents.

The Angiojet is a very small device that can dissolve blood clots, reopen bypass grafts or stents. This new technology may prevent a heart attack by opening clogged arteries, and helps to improve peripheral artery disease.
