Respiratory Care Services is a health care specialty whose personnel are instrumental in helping diagnose, treat, manage, control, rehabilitate and provide preventive care for patients with cardiopulmonary problems. Under the guidance of a qualified medical director, licensed respiratory therapists have an ever-expanding role in influencing and providing patient care.

Respiratory Care has earned the status for Quality Respiratory Care Recognition (QRCR) for excellence of the services. Hospitals earning a QRCR designation ensure patient safety by agreeing to adhere to a strict set of criteria governing their respiratory care services. Northridge Hospital joins only 10-percent of hospitals nation-wide that have achieved this status.

For additional information about Northridge Hospital’s Respiratory Care services call 818-885-8500, ext. 2775. To find a pulmonologist call our FREE Find a Doctor line at 818-908-8677 or search our online directory.

Several of the services provided by these specialized staff include emergency airway management, bronchopulmonary drainage and exercise therapy, medication administration, blood gas analysis, airway maintenance and respiratory home care arrangements.

Respiratory care therapists receive orders from physicians and are responsible for carrying out the orders according to established standards. Each respiratory therapist continually increases and improves his or her knowledge and skill, and offers each patient the full measure of his or her ability.
