Medical Students

We offer both Ambulatory and Inpatient elective rotations for fourth year students attending LCME and AOA accredited medical schools.

Outpatient Rotation

  • Students see patients in the Family Practice Center, and have the opportunity to take part in the multiple Specialty Clinics in our office – including Dermatology, Podiatry, Nutrition, Ultrasound, Sports Medicine and Surgery Clinics.
  • Attend daily noon conferences and participate in monthly educational workshops with the residents.

Inpatient Rotation

  • Students serve as a member of the Medicine Team, working alongside the residents and hospitalist attendings, rounding daily on patients in the hospital.
  • Attend Cardiology and other Specialty Rounds each week, daily noon conferences, and participate in monthly educational workshops with the residents.

Meals and parking are provided for all students during the rotation.

The Resident House is located across the street from the hospital and is available free of charge for students needing a place to stay.

Confirmation of satisfactory performance and status, liability insurance, proof of immunizations, photo identification (driver’s license or passport), and STEP 1 or COMLEX 1 results are required prior to acceptance.

Please e-mail Dr. Cindy Yang (Cindy.Yang@DignityHealth.org) and the Residency Coordinator Ms. Carol Ruiz (Carol.Ruiz@DignityHealth.org) if you are interested in scheduling your elective at Northridge.
