The Carole Pump Women’s Center at Northridge Hospital Medical Center offers women the most advanced diagnostic and treatment services at every stage of life
We encourage every woman to take an active approach to her care in our supportive, healing environment. Our woman sensitive approach to treatment focuses on the mind, body and spirit.
Women receive personalized care under the direction of a female, board-certified, fellowship-trained women’s Imaging Radiologist supported by highly-trained clinical technologists. For added convenience, we offer same day appointments, flexible times and provide test results to your physician within 24-hours after your appointment.
To schedule an appointment, ask your doctor or call the Women’s Center at 818-700-5678 and we will assist you.
Our all-inclusive Babies First
Program provides expert medical care to mother and child from your baby’s first breath. We offer in-house lactation consultants every day of the week in addition to breastfeeding, childbirth education and parenting classes.
During a high-risk pregnancy, our Perinatology Specialists provide extra attention and care to help women deliver healthy babies. These specialists are supported by the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Medicine, and have the latest equipment and technology to address any pregnancy related medical condition.
Better Breast Care
The Women’s Center offers digital mammography allowing for shorter exam times and faster results. This technology surpasses conventional film-based systems because radiologists can zoom in to view a refined detailed image. This greatly decreases the need for retakes and reduces patients’ exposure to X-rays.
We also offer:
- Breast ultrasounds
- Breast MRI – the newest technology to catch breast cancer early
- MRI guided breast biopsies
- Breast self-exam demonstrations
- Clinical breast exams
Breast Cancer Tumor Board
Each patient receives top priority treatment from our Breast Cancer Tumor Board, consisting of physicians who specialize in all aspects of breast cancer treatment. As a team, this group of radiation oncologists, surgeons, medical oncologists, treatment coordinators, therapists and social workers reviews and assesses each case history to maximize resources and develop a treatment plan that works best for the patient.
The Bigger (Clearer) Picture
In addition to better breast health, we offer:
- Obstetric/pelvic ultrasounds
- Abdominal and vascular ultrasounds
- Bone Densitometry (DEXA) – a quick, painless procedure for measuring bone loss
Images are stored digitally using our Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS). It allows radiologists and referring physicians to access them from anywhere. That means a woman can receive a second or third opinion without visiting additional physicians.
To successfully treat female cancers, we offer an impressive variety of advanced radiation technology that precisely delivers high doses of radiation while sparing healthy tissue.
MammoSite – breast cancer radiation treatment in just five days
Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT)
Image Guided Radiation Treatment (IGRT)
For gynecological cancer, we also offer da Vinci Robotic-Assisted Surgery. It helps physicians perform precise and accurate laparoscopic surgery through incisions the size of a dime.
