Spiritual Care Services
At Northridge Hospital we respect and affirm the value of all religious and spiritual paths. Spiritual Care Services offer a compassionate, supportive, and objective ear. We believe that the healing process includes the body, mind, and spirit. You can reach Spirtual Care Services at 818-885-5351.
We value the diversity of ways in which faith is expressed and we are committed to meeting each individual's spiritual and/or religious needs. We seek to provide an open, caring, and compassionate environment that empowers a person to draw on their own unique beliefs and practices for comfort, courage, and strength.
During times of crisis and difficult decisions our goals are to provide appropriate religious and spiritual practices for each individual. We provide a supportive, listening ear and can act as an advocate for the patient and family.
We offer several areas where you can seek a quiet place:
- Our Chapel, located on the first floor, provides a place for prayer and meditation at any hour.
- A meditation garden is located at the end of the driveway at the rear entrance.
The Center for Spiritual Health and Healing, and its Advisory Council made up of community clergy, volunteers, and staff, work together to integrate spiritual awareness and create a safe healing environment throughout the hospital. We also reach out to clergy, congregations, and community groups to create and nurture spiritual health and healing through collaboration.
Dignity Health embraces the spiritual dimension of life and is committed to providing spiritual care services to patients, families, and caregivers.
In times of crisis, we often find that our spirituality helps us maintain our health, cope with illness, traumas, and losses, and adjust to life transitions by integrating our bodies, minds, and spirits.
Spiritual care at Dignity Health is the process by which a professional chaplain helps individuals and families draw upon their religious traditions, faith convictions or sense of life purpose to help them face crisis situations. Spiritual caregivers assist people who are dealing with issues such as fear, loneliness, hopelessness, and questions of meaning.
Chaplains seek to embody compassion and to promote healing as they accompany individuals and families in their journey through illness, and at times, through death. Spiritual care is a vital component of Northridge Hospital and DIgnity Health's mission.
