FREE Classes and Support Groups
We host health and wellness programs at the hospital and in the community throughout the year. And you are invited to attend, even if you’re not a Dignity Health Northridge Hospital patient. We offer classes, Expectant Parent programs, screenings and support groups to help individuals make lifestyle changes to improve their health.
Health cannot be defined simply as the absence of disease. Mental, spiritual and environmental wellbeing all play a part in the overall health of an individual or a community. For this reason, we go beyond hospital walls to help improve the long-term health of the communities we serve. Every three years, Northridge Hospital collaborates with the Valley Care Community Consortium to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the health needs of the San Fernando and Santa Clarita Valleys and portions of Simi Valley.
Furthering that mission, Northridge Hospital participates in the Dignity Health Community Grant Program, which focuses on supporting nonprofit community organizations whose mission is to provide access to healthcare services for underserved populations.
Humankindness is at the heart of our community outreach. That’s why over the past 12 years, we’ve awarded grants totaling $2,688,600 to 78 non-profit organizations who benefit the community via the Northridge Hospital/Dignity Health Community Grant Program. And in fiscal year 2013 --- in just 12 months --- we provided nearly $62 million in financial assistance, community benefit and unreimbursed patient care.
We are Dignity Health, believers in the healing power of kindness. What do we mean by "Hello humankindness"?
It starts with the proven idea that human connection, be it physical, verbal, or otherwise, leads to better health. That's why it's at the heart of everything we do at Dignity Health. Join us in our mission to create, discover, and celebrate the humankindness around us. Maybe we can make this world a little healthier and happier together.
