(resulting in faster, more precise diagnoses, shorter hospital stays and quicker recoveries).
-
Maintaining an expert team of cancer specialists who posses a “We Can” attitude (and inspiring patients to adopt the belief as well).
-
Partnering with community organizations to offer cancer patients alternative and complementary therapies that promote healing and a sense of well-being.
-
Educating the public about prevention and early detection.
-
Having the distinction of three esteemed accreditations
(attesting to our exceptional clinical programs, cancer research, community outreach and education programs).
The Leavey Cancer Center is fully-accredited by three prestigious organizations: The American College of Radiation Oncology, the Association of Community Cancer Centers and the American College of Surgeons as a Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Northridge Hospital Medical Center’s Leavey Cancer Center has had the pleasure of treating many cancer survivors with a “We CAN” attitude. Read their inspiring stories. This issue also includes cancer prevention tips and recognizes many organizations and individuals who have helped this dream come true.
We Can Make Medical Breakthroughs
Clinic research can lead to treatments that promise to increase survival rates and life expectancy—a proven outcome for many studies in which Northridge Hospital participates. For nearly 30 years, we've partnered with some of the nation’s most respected institutions in the most innovative clinical research trials.
The Leavey Cancer Center is participating in 15 promising trials in the areas of prevention and treatment for brain cancer, breast cancer, gastrointestinal and rectal cancer, genitourinary, lung cancer, lymphoma, metastatic cancer, neuropathy and prostate cancer. Our trials are with National Cancer Institute designated cooperative groups and in conjunction with UCLA.
