Top Five Percent in the Nation!

We're proud to announce that Northridge Hospital Medical Center is ranked among the top five percent of hospitals in the United States for Clinical Excellence by HealthGrades —a national healthcare ratings organization.

To put it simply, people are more likely to have successful treatment, fewer complications and lower mortality at a Distinguished Hospital for Clinical Excellence.

Specifically, it results in a 30 percent lower risk-adjusted mortality rate among Medicare beneficiaries compared to all other hospitals.

The Hippest Skier
Skiing a black diamond slope at Mammoth mountain is an achievement for any skier. But when 79-year-old Bill Newbold tackled the run after hip surgery, it was nothing short of extraordinary. Orthopedic Medicine uses the latest surgical procedures for joints, knee, hip and back conditions. Our surgeons specialize in minimally invasive techniques to quickly restore function, improve mobility and decrease pain—so you can get back to living.
Find Your Rhythm
Feeling short of breath, overly fatigued or lightheaded? Is your heart racing? It could be anxiety that accompanies many life situations. Or, it may be abnormal heartbeats, called arrhythmias, which can lead to cardiac arrest in severe cases.

Baby Beats the Odds
Raegan Grace had “no chance” for survival when Jennifer had complications early in her pregnancy. Today, she is thriving thanks to the medical advancements. The hospital was voted the Best in Pediatric Care for the 2012 Daily News Reader’s Choice Awards! We are also the only Pediatric Trauma Center in the valley.

This issue also features "Smart Drugs Just Got Smarter" from the Leavey Cancer Cancerfree community education classes, and so much more. You can also download the full Fall 2012 issue, community education or support group pdf's.
