Revolutionizing Healthcare is the current issue of HealthSpeak. Northridge Hospital Medical Center’s new minimally-invasive and noninvasive treatments trump those of years’ past. Our ability to rapidly evolve with the medical field has resulted in faster, more precise diagnoses, shorter hospital stays and quicker recoveries --- whether patients are treated for cancer, a brain tumor or heart disease.  The Stroke Center is where doctors use the latest options and evidence-based treatments to fight stroke—and help patients keep their cool.

In the Making A Comeback issue of HealthSpeak read true-life rehabilitation stories, learn about our Center for Spine Care, and meet the Valley's first robotic surgeon. Northridge Hospital's School-based Obesity and Diabetes Initiative  is a win-win for students, parents, teachers and staff at the Los Angeles Unified School District. Our high-tech imaging cafe is now open and features a 64-slice CT scanner that produces extremely detailed images of the heart lung and other organs. We also introduce you to six our community board members.

New services that not only improve patient care, but also delight are featured in the Paws for Pet Therapy Winter 2007 HealthSpeak. Learn what a "special touch" really means, especially when it comes to a dose of puppy love. We want you to know that our patient's comfort and safety are a number one priority, and recently our staff has adopted several new measures.

The Steps to Better Health issue features articles on Northridge Hospital as one of the first designated Emergency Heart Centers, and the Quality Respiratory Care Recognition status that is achieved by only 10% of hospitals.

Our mission at Northridge Hospital is to better the lives of our patients, as well as those in our community. The Connecting Our Community issue captures the collaboration of the hospital with our community partners, and shares the story of a very special young lady on a mission "To Catch the Bad Guys".

The Women Treating Women issue of HealthSpeak features the Women's Center, choosing the best surgical care, and a local resident recounts how his life was saved. You can also check out our community class schedule, support groups and more.

The 50th Anniversary HealthSpeak chronicles the history of Northridge Hospital from humble beginnings to everyday miracles. Beginning in 1947, a few visionary citizens took the first tentative steps to expand the San Fernando Valley's access to healthcare services.

The Heart Care Winter 2006 issue of HealthSpeak features advances of the CardioVascular Center in treating heart disease. Other articles talk about the Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive Care Units, and our state-of-the-art reference laboratory.

Groundbreaking medical advances are the result of new ideas and approaches through clinical research as discussed in the Clinical Research Fall 2005 issue of HealthSpeak. Innovations in the Catherization Laboratory, and the national recognition of the organ donation program are featured in the issue.

Northridge Hospital was the first to bring the Gamma Knife brain surgery to the Valley, and 201 Beams Focused on One Thing: Painless Brain Surgery is the feature article in Spring 2005 issue.
